A printed QR code is a commitment — ours as much as yours. This page puts in writing what happens to your links and codes in every scenario, including the ones other providers hope you won’t ask about.
1. The Problem With This Industry
Print a QR code on a thousand leaflets, let the trial lapse, and with many providers the code silently dies or starts showing adverts. Google retired goo.gl links entirely in 2025, breaking years of printed material. We think that’s a rotten deal, and we built xengo so it can’t happen to you.
2. Your Links Are Never Deleted
If your subscription lapses, your account becomes read-only and redirects pause — but nothing is ever deleted. Every link, QR code, custom domain and analytics record is kept exactly as you left it.
Reactivate and everything is restored instantly: the same URLs, the same printed codes, no reprint, no re-setup. A lapsed card never turns your printed material into waste.
3. No Adverts on Your Links. Ever.
We never insert interstitial pages, adverts or “preview” screens between a scan and your destination — on any tier, in any circumstance. There is no free tier to monetise with someone else’s ads. Your visitor goes straight to your destination.
4. Your Domain, Your Ultimate Control
Bring your own domain and your short links live on infrastructure you name. Because the domain is yours, you hold the ultimate exit: if you ever leave xengo, you can re-point your domain and your printed material follows you.
Every redirect we serve is a temporary (302) redirect by design, so destinations stay re-pointable and nothing gets permanently cached against you.
5. Your Data Is Yours
Your full link inventory is always visible in the console and retrievable via the API. If you decide to leave, you can take your links, destinations, tags and analytics summaries with you — ask support and we’ll help with the export.
6. If xengo Ever Shuts Down
We plan to be here for decades. But you deserve the commitment in writing: if xengo were ever to close, we commit to at least 90 days’ notice, full data export for every customer, and keeping the redirect plane running through the entire notice period so you can migrate printed codes in an orderly way.
